In 1994, The Organization of Black Maritime Graduates (OBMG) was founded by six graduates of SUNY Maritime College to expand access to educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in the maritime profession. The organization is committed to supporting the next generation of maritime professionals and helping them build successful careers through recruitment, scholarship, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
