In 1994, The Organization of Black Maritime Graduates (OBMG) was created by six SUNY Maritime College graduates to improve education opportunities for underserved students seeking careers in the maritime profession. We focus on increasing minority involvement in the maritime industry as well as helping them realize successful careers, through scholarship, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
